A Private Pilot Certificate allows you to fly almost anywhere within the United States with passengers during the day or night, up to altitudes of 18,000' while observing VFR (visual flight rules).
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
- Receive a minimum of 40 hours of flight time including training and solo flight
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
An Instrument Rating allows a Certificated Private Pilot to Fly under a different set of conditions and rules known as IFR (Instrument Flight Rules). These rules facilitate the ability to fly within the clouds at the direction of Air Traffic Controllers.
- Be at least 17 years of age
-Hold a Private Pilot Certificate
-Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
-At least 50 hours of cross-country time as pilot in command
-Receive a minimum of 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time
- At least 15 hours of instrument flight training in the aircraft
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
A Commercial Pilot certificate allows a pilot to fly as a professional pilot commercially.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold an Instrument Rating
- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
- Receive a minimum of 100 hours of flight time as pilot in command
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
Our Multi-Engine land rating is categorized as an “add-on” to an existing single-engine land private or commercial rating.
There are no minimum time requirements for this additional rating. There is also no written exam, only an oral exam and practical checkride are required by a DPE.
- Students must already possess a Private or Commercial Airplane Pilot Certificate for this program
Certified Flight Instructors are allowed to provide flight instruction to student pilots.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a commercial pilot certificate
- Hold an instrument rating
- Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language
- Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate
- Have logged at least 250 hours with the required training for the CFI rating per FAA regulations
- Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test
